Public Health: iVEDiX Helps in AIDS Relief
UNAIDS, the Joint United Nations (UN) Program on HIV/AIDS is utilising the iVEDiX solution in the HIV Situation Room in Kenya, an initiative that contributes to ending the HIV epidemic by 2030. iVEDiX allows the UN and their member states to collaborate by having access to national, county and facility level data, enabling better-targeted programs and service level support, as well as giving countries and individual counties access to near real-time data for better-informed decision making.
“iVEDiX is instrumental in helping us reach our goal to end HIV epidemic by 2030 by enabling us to work together through a connected Situation Room,” said Luiz Loures, Deputy Executive Director of UNAIDS. “The ability to visualize, compare and manipulate data at the county and facility levels in meaningful ways is invaluable.”
“We are thrilled to support an initiative like this by providing a collaboration platform that will empower UNAIDS and its members to reach their objective,” said Rajesh Kutty, CEO of iVEDiX. “This project is more than just technology, it’s about saving lives.”
The strategic goal behind the Situation Room initiative evolved from UNAIDS’ 90-90-90 targets for 2020, whereby 90% of all people living with HIV will know their HIV status; 90% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection will receive sustained antiretroviral therapy; and 90% of all people receiving antiretroviral therapy will have viral suppression. iVEDiX will be used by UNAIDS, country, and sub-country level leaders and practitioners to monitor the progress toward achieving the plan and help determine where and how to apply their resources.
iVEDiX is a mobile solution that seamlessly integrates existing data infrastructure and gives users access to the data from their mobile device. Prior to utilising iVEDiX, the various data sets needed to be extracted regularly by staff at different institutions. iVEDiX offers real-time access to those data sets, allowing comparability, visuals and analytics never before experienced in this manner. With iVEDiX an interactive and connected Situation Room has been established where members in any number of different locations can collaborate and share their views and conclusions on action required.
